About Me

Sean Winningham

Hello – My name is Sean. I love creating engaging experiences, interacting and collaborating with enthusiastic people, and finding innovative ways to use technology. Oh, and you can’t tell from this picture, but I’m unbelievably tall.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have served in a number of professional roles in the field of education for over 10 years. Currently I am an online instructional designer for eLearning Design & Services at Indiana University, where I work with faculty to design and develop great learning experiences for their students. Before this role, I have been a teacher for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, admissions counselor at Marian University, and academic advisor for Purdue University and Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

I love being able to use my passion, creativity, and skills into the projects that I work on. Serving as the lead instructional designer for the Indiana University Online Course Test Drive project has been one of the highlights of my career. I’ve also developed and integrated a number of skills and interests into my professional role, such as writing HTML & CSS and audio & video editing.

Outside of my day job, you can find me in Indianapolis, where I have a lot of interests, hobbies, and activities.

  • In 2019, I teamed up with Kevin Stahlecker and James Caudill to launch The Captioned Life, a podcast series we co-host that explores the world of comics and how it impacts our lives and society. In addition to co-hosting, I am also the sound editor/mixer and help run our social media accounts on Instagram and Twitter.
  • I’ve started my YouTube channel to showcase some of my creativity and skills in creating and editing videos that hit various topics, such as social interests, professional development, storytelling, and instructional design.
  • I’m also honored to be a bi-monthly (every other month) moderator for #INeLearn Twitter chat, which is a weekly discussion on Twitter about the use of technology in the classroom for teaching professionals in the state of Indiana (sponsored by Indiana Department of Education’s Office of eLearning).

You can also find me playing hockey, running, reading comics, traveling, visiting Disney World, and most of all, spending time with my family.

My website provides you a snapshot of what I’ve done professionally and what I am capable of. Feel free to explore my work, and let’s get in touch to talk about what we can accomplish together.
